The Role
- Lead team analysis and/or independently perform strategic assessments of key markets or select competitor activities, including (but not limited to): situation analysis, strategic assessments, operational benchmarking and articulation of implications.
- Ensure effective utilization of raw and syndicated data assets as well as business analytics tools across relevant oncology markets, to provide unbiased and fact-based market and competitive insights, benchmarking, and recommendations to support Early Development and Commercialization Strategies, Portfolio Prioritization, Oncology Development / Research Strategies and Business Development initiatives.
Work arrangement: This role offers flexibility to work away from the office for 20%-40% of a typical schedule. Employees may use this work schedule in increments of single days or multiple consecutive days, provided it does not exceed 40% within a 60-day period, and is approved by the hiring manager.
Responsibilities include:
- Development of quantitative analytics that help to inform product development and decision support for early and near launch portfolio growth strategies.
- Performed impact analyses to assist in opportunity identification, ROI assessments, and risk management of key strategies.
- Translate insights into simple and actionable recommendations and keep research project continuity and follow up to track business evolution
- Provided data-driven insights and recommendations through performance tracking, KPIs, QBR dashboards, and interpreting data for different cross-functional teams.
- Partner with Data Science to manage vendor expectations for data acquisition, integration, and warehousing while ensuring data integrity across systems.
- Provide insights to inform critical business decisions, support the development of accurate global forecasts, and help identify potential drivers of revenue.
- Partner with the Primary Market Research Leads to identify, design and execute analytics to inform marketing and sales strategy/tactics to complement MR activities.
- Create foundational market understanding through the development of digital patient journey, epidemiology models, treatment flow maps, market segmentation, target product profile studies, attribute/benefit testing, opportunity assessments and market landscape research
- Provide strategic input to help shape strategic and business plans, program strategies and new indication launch plans and life cycle management.
- Presents complex issues in a clear and persuasive manner effectively communicating recommendations to cross functional teams and brand team.
- Stay abreast of emerging healthcare & pharmaceutical industry trends and assess their potential impact on our franchise business strategies. Act with speed, agility and accountability.
- Cultivate meaningful internal and external partnerships, adding value and insights for the organization; being insight driven to uncover important unmet needs.
- Maintain transparency into market research budgets, optimize deployment of resources, identify areas of improvement/productivity, and impact. Also prioritize data spend (current and requested), challenge areas for continuous improvement
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree. MBA or other related graduate-level degree (10+ Years with BS/BA, 8+ Years with MS/MA or MBA)
- 5 or more years of work experience in quantitative analytics or decision science, strategic consulting or other analytical work in the biotech / pharmaceutical industries in leadership roles with direct management experience
- Previous experience in oncology/hematology is required
- Track record of delivering actionable insights through successful execution of quantitative market research projects, as well as strategic problem-solving skills
- Exceptional ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment, with changing priorities and significant time pressures
- Demonstrated proficiency in influencing cross-functional teams and managing successful conflict resolution. Able to gain buy-in and promote shared ownership of projects.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) required. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally
- Ability to develop and maintain strong team, including external partners, relationships while driving for positive results
- Strength in storytelling, data visualization and developing effective presentations
- High degree of intellectual curiosity
- Proficiency with all Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and Tableau
Preferred:
- Secondary data analysis
- Experience with forecasting/modeling
- Experience in hematology oncology marketplace
- Expertise in a broad range of qualitative and quantitative methodologies
- Diversity of experience with demonstrated learning agility in order to be able to move across different stakeholders
- People management experience - (strongly preferred)
- Expertise in domain specific data sets of pharma and specialty pharmacy data sources (including RWE, Patient level data, & sales data sources)
- Experience in the key functional areas of market research, including design and analysis of primary market research
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team, provide direction and oversight, and motivate others
- Proven ability to effectively operate and influence cross-functionally
- Strong technical understanding of marketing research models and deep knowledge and experience across multiple complex research tools
- Developed or participated in the development of one or more proprietary research models or techniques
- Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking ability
- Concise and impactful written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a face-paced environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high quality business results within tight deadlines
For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:
$163,920.00---$245,880.00
The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.
