The Princeton University Department of Chemistry seeks applications for its Visiting Faculty Research Partnership (VFRP) position for the summer 2026 term. The VFRP seeks to establish research collaborations with faculty members, and their students, from colleges and universities without large doctoral programs. The Department of Chemistry supports a diverse and inclusive community and seeks to develop enduring research networks among the chemistry community. The visiting faculty member will identify a member of the Princeton University Department of Chemistry research faculty with whom to develop a research project of mutual interest. Faculty members selected for this program will be appointed as "Princeton University Visiting Research Scholars" and may invite up to two currently enrolled student researchers to participate in the summer research. The work location for this position is in-person on campus at Princeton University. Eligibility: Faculty applicants must be a full-time faculty member in chemistry, chemical biology, physical chemistry, or materials chemistry, or a related field, at an accredited U.S. degree granting, postsecondary institution. A Ph.D. is required. Applicants from faculty at Minority-Serving Institutions are strongly encouraged. The faculty member cannot hold an appointment at a university categorized as "Research 1: Very High Research Spending and Doctorate Production" by the 2025 Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. Trailing students may be either undergraduate or graduate students, but they must have completed at least one semester at their home institution and have at least one semester of enrollment remaining in their program. Additionally, trailing undergraduate students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. Expected Salary Range: $6500/month
The University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, work experience, education/training, key skills, market, collective bargaining agreements as applicable, and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The posted salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate for a full-time position; salaries for part-time positions are pro-rated accordingly.
