We are seeking an experienced engineer who is passionate about data, digital, and AI. This role is pivotal in securing the efficient and compliant operations of our developer platform, ensuring successful value delivery to Genmab's business.
This role is based out of our Princeton office and requires for you to be on site 60% of the time
Position Overview:
You are a highly experienced hands-on technical individual who will be responsible for helping to support our emerging AI strategy while also advancing our broader platform engineering efforts. You will work with our AI Labs team to help solve technical & architectural challenges to deliver scalable and secure platforms & solutions. You will drive continuous improvements to the platform to ease use and increase efficiency for AI innovation and end-users.
You embody the idea that 'good platform engineering is rarely ever seen only felt'. You have an automation-first mindset, are security-conscious, and keen on improving the in-house developer experience.
Responsibilities
- Act as broad SME on infrastructure and DevOps challenges; help guide the architecture and design of our entire stack, ensuring scalability, security, and performance; address tactical issues as they arise.
- Work with the foundational cloud teams to ensure platform operational effectiveness, reliability, security and efficiency.
- Help architect and build robust AI platform capabilities and applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and compliance.
- Collaborate with AI research teams to help turn prototypes into production-ready deployments
- Act as a trusted SME to platform engineering leadership on the feasibility, risks, and benefits of AI investments.
- Collaborate with team members to provide ad-hoc technical direction for system architecture design, deployment pipelines, and solution scaling.
- Keep up with emerging technologies and trends in AI/ML, cloud computing, infrastructure as code, and high-performance computing; suggest innovative solutions to enhance our capabilities
- Seek out opportunities to unblock innovation, improve platform performance, reduce manual intervention, scale compute, and increase deployment efficiency.
- Mentor and inspire others; foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and learning
Qualifications
- Bachelors in a quantitative subject (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research) or a related field with 8+ years of experience.
- MS/PhD in a quantitative subject (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research) or a related field with 5+ years of experience.
- Hands on work with AI agentic frameworks
- Broad experience within the AWS cloud-service ecosystem
- Significant experience implementing IaC (Terraform, OpenTofu, CDK, Pulumi, etc.) + CI/CD for deploying cloud-based platform infrastructure at scale
- Knowledge of basic software development tools including VCS (GitHub, GitLab, etc.), CI/CD (GitHub/Lab Actions, Jenkins, etc.), JIRA
- Deep knowledge of containerization (e.g. Docker, Podman, etc.) and orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes, Rancher, etc.)
- Experience with large scale CPU, GPU and/or multi-GPU infrastructure (bonus for CUDA fundamentals)
- Expertise with governance, regulatory, risk management, security, and compliance standards in cloud environments.
- Experience analyzing and improving system performance and reducing costs.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders effectively.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Prior experience working within the pharma/biotech domain
- Proficiency in at least one or more strongly typed programming language such as C/C++, Java, Go, Rust, or similar with associated OO or functional design principals.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems (e.g. Ray, Dask, Spark, etc.) and high-performance computing environments (e.g. Slurm, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of data platforms (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake, or Lake Formation) and tools (e.g. dbt) and their underlying technologies (e.g. Delta, Iceberg, Hudi, Spark).
- Prior work with real-time/streaming infrastructure (e.g., Kafka, Spark Streaming).
- Experience with GitOps style tools for building and enabling developer platforms (e.g. ArgoCD, Crossplane, etc.)
- Experience with multi-cloud platform development (e.g. some combination of AWS, GCP, Azure)
For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:
$136,240.00---$204,360.00
The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.
